Purchased in 1993 by Jim and Kisty Engel, Utila Lodge has been transformed into the warm and welcoming haven that it is today. You will begin to feel at ease as soon as you enter our relaxed and informal setting, step foot on our private docks or gaze out on peaceful surroundings. Or perhaps you will feel invigorated by the many activities that are available to you. Be it snorkeling, kayaking, fishing, hiking, bird watching, diving or shopping; the possibilities for adventure are unlimited! Our natural wood facilities are built for comfort and convenience, all while making the most of breathtaking ocean views. In our newly updated rooms, guests enjoy cool ocean breezes and all the amenities of home. Our eight air-conditioned rooms are situated directly over the calm waters of the Caribbean. Sip your morning coffee as you lounge in an oversized hammock on your private balcony. Hot coffee can be brought to your room every morning if you wish, free of charge! Breakfast, lunch and dinner at Utila Lodge are served family style with a large buffet to satiate even the hungriest appetites. Our menu is primarily home-style American with a Honduran influence. Served in our breezy dining room, surrounded by the ocean on three sides, our guests enjoy a casual atmosphere with spectacular views of the Utila harbor. We are happy to accommodate special dietary requests; please inquire when you make your reservation. Our guests enjoy friendly camaraderie, often sitting together at our large communal dining table. For those interested in more privacy, there are plenty of small tables to choose from ’Äî each with a unique and stunning view of anchored sailboats bobbing lazily in the waves, and the Caribbean sunset during the evening meal. The Lodge also features a new, fully stocked bar with local and imported spirits, soft drinks, and purified drinking water. After dinner, be sure and take a stroll out to the end of our dock where spotted eagle rays, and our resident barracuda, can often be seen searching the harbor for food! |
